Hello all,
Just played my first Nuts! Big Battle with a few friends and brother. Really like the system. Everyone got the hang of it in 15 minutes or less. One question came up, and I want to clarify it. When the active player moves a tank platoon and causes an insight test with an enemy vehicle/platoon, both sides roll dice and compare successes. If the nonactive player/defender rolls more successes they fire on the Active player first, correct? This is how we were playing the rules. My question now is does the active player now get to shoot if they survive the defender’s shot or is their turn over?

You have it correct, the non-active side can fire. If they survive they can active fire. Hope this helps, Ed

Note that, playing NUTS Big Battles using the published rules there is no firing back if you moved.
But Ed clarified in a thread of mine that subsequent to publication of NUTS Big Battles the rules have been changed and are now...
ACTIONS
When a vehicle is active it may voluntarily do one of the following actions.
• Move up to full distance.
• Stay in place, change the way it is facing or rotate the vehicle’s turret.
• Attempt to run down enemy vehicles, heavy weapons, infantry, or structures.
FIRING
In addition to the previous actions, vehicles can fire during the turn at the following times:
• Once when active, if loaded.
• Each time when called upon to return fire, if loaded.
