Hello, i am unsure how to read and play the rules correct.
Units moving through Woods/BUA are unformed, but Unformed cant move! So how units can move on in woods?
What i am reading wrong.
thx

They aren't really unformed as they are under control of the officer and have a united purpose. Real unformed is the officer has lost control and is trying to get them back into formation.
As moving through the woods breaks their formation it was either give them a new term to use that meant they still weren't formed up or just use unformed. When they exit the woods they would still be unformed in theiopen and would have to reform.
Hope this helps.

Ok thx, so they move de facto in column or line through the woods, using the corresponding movement chart, but counts as unformed, if they would contacted in melee. And if they move again in any open ground, they must reform.
Working just on a "Shevardino" scenario, therefore some questions come up during the first tests

A somewhat related question:
The army lists in the rules mark some units as "Light Infantry", but that does not seem to have any actual effect in the game? (for example by not becoming unformed in woods)

At this level of battle no. It does affect their morale as they are usdually higher than line troops. At a lower level like Muskets and Shakoes they could go into skirmish formation.

A question about this from our recent game:
If only part of a regiment is in a wood, does the whole regiment count as unformed for fighting or only the part in the forest?
We had a situation where a 3-bataillon regiment was in line, with the rightmost bataillon in a wood, while the others were in the open.
We played that the 2 clear bataillons counted as formed, but the one in the forest as unformed.
OK?

Correct. Just default to real life. The regiment has three parts and are treated individually.
