Hi everyone. I have a question about an ending to a Larger Than Life game. In the final scene, the big bad gained initiative, fired first and scored a duck back. On the will to fight table, he failed and left the fight. My character, trying to recover an artifact, passed, so I counted it a success, item recovered and game over. What if they both had failed on will to fight? Just looking for any thoughts, thanks.

The Star can use Extraoridnary Effort and roll another d6 at any time. If they still both Leave the Fight then the Big Bad has escaped and I'd replay a Final Scene.

Their fight started a fire or broke a vat of acid or flask of poison. They both had to leave the area or risk perishing in the fire/acid/vapors. Play a chase scene to see if your star can catch the Big Bad, then another fight. Or set the stage for the Star to collect some clues to track down the Big Bad again (give the BB some penalties for being on the run). Or maybe the BB runs to his boss and you get to dig deeper into the shadows with another campaign.

Thanks for the thoughts! I actually did improvise story wise, but I like these ideas better.

No problem. The important question is: did you have fun?
