Hi everyone,
I'm trying to set up a campaign with my son that's generally set in the 40k universe (he accompanies me to the local hobby shop, so he's naturally getting interested in "those big blue guys").
Essentially I want to do a planet infested with genestealers, like Space Hulk but on a planet. I don't want to use the bug rules, because that's too coordinated for what I'm trying to go for. I was thinking of using ATZ rules, maybe the ragers from one of the previous books (IZombie? I'd have to go digging to remember).
Since my son is just getting into tabletop games and I don't want it to be too hard on him, I was thinking he could be a beefed up Space Marine in terminator armor. What's the best rules to use to represent something like that, think canon Space Marine (one man killing machine). Is the BTA suit a thing anymore? I don't recall seeing it in the newer 5150 books.
I'll run normal survivors alongside him, and I was thinking the gangers could represent genestealer cult gangs.
Anyway, any help pointing out good rules to represent the genestealers or space marine would really be appreciated.
Thanks!

Interesting, I actually didn't know about that ruleset. Does it just work for corridors, or would it work in open environments as well?

I have Infestation, had thought about using the infected...What I'm thinking of doing is using the ATZ rules, but substituting the zombie stats for something else, possibly the infected...Do you have any recommendations for keeping it balanced so that the aliens wouldn't steamroll survivors and stuff? I like the idea of using the rules for more showing up if you fire and stuff like that, I'm just worried since they'll be faster than zombies it'll be a bloodbath. Also do you have any recommendations for representing a one man killing machine in a suit of armor? Would giving him resilient and maybe something else be enough to get that across? I don't want him to be invincible but it should take a LOT to bring him down.

For one man killing machine just make him a Star with Star powers, and maybe crakc shot and quick reflexes attribute, so he will shoot first most of the times and using 3d6 to hit. You can tell your son Space Marines have those attributes...

Ragers would be fine then. Resilient would work, but for the one man killing machine Javier has the right idea.
