Question for the Hivemind -
I recently painted up a bunch of WWII US Army, but Michigan is still on a pretty bad lockdown, so opponents are not really to be found. Instead of painting up a bunch of Germans (which I'd have to buy), I have a bunch of Martians which have served me well as Hishen over the last several years. I'm thinking about a 1950's pulp battle between Mars and the US Army taking place in a shopping center parking lot no less.
What I don't have at the moment is a clue about what rules to use, or even what weapons or armor to attribute to the troops. Any ideas are appreciated.

They reminded me of Hishen from Star Army books. If not using 5150 you could go with Chain Reaction or NUTS. I'd go with Rep 3 and Rifles that could hit one target. They would need numbers to balance things out as they are pretty bad. So when you roll to resolve as PEF as how many, always give them 2 figures more.

Sounds pretty good. I was thinking I'd give them a single target "Ray Gun" as that's pretty pulpy, but a very lethal one, while the GIs would get M-1 semiautomatic rifles and one .30 caliber machine gun team.
5150:SA2T has been sitting neglected since I bought it when it came out, and I saw some NP movement tables, so I'll go with that.
I have five flying saucers, and some US WWII armor and two Bazooka teams, which I need to figure out if I should use it.

Yep, looks like fun.

Would Future Tales be suited to this?

Would Future Tales be suited to this? Maybe. THW rules share similar mechanics so I'd think so.

Make sure you have a lot of cars, delivery trucks and green-space with trees and shrubs. Otherwise it will be a fast and deadly game. If you want to change it up a bit, have the martian ray guns affect up to 3 targets if they are within 2-3 inches (keeps the military from bunching up). Maybe make the ray guns more powerful if multiple martians target the same guy.
