That's a lot of bugs! Any survivors or was it a total massacre as the bugs rampaged through your line?

Well, as usual, mistakes were mede The idea to play first game in coop with bugs was bad; The idea to try to run campaign mode from the very first game was bad; Rolling and setting bugs Investment Level to "6" was bad; Rolling "6" every time for "How many bugs" table was... well... disastrous; Anyway, lesson learned, rules reviewed, we'll try again today!Question, are there any books with scenarios? Also I have impression this game is solo play oriented and I know that it's a toolbox for anything I want to do, but do you have any ideas to setup for example Patrol mission for player vs player? I'm asking because in every scenario we have instructions for PEFs and not for actual second player.

Also I have impression this game is solo play oriented and I know that it's a toolbox for anything I want to do, but do you have any ideas to setup for example Patrol mission for player vs player? I'm asking because in every scenario we have instructions for PEFs and not for actual second player. So i have two different ways i play player vs player. Just using a patrol mission as an example i would roll for each players squad (# of men) and rep (meaning you might have higher or lower quality troops and you might be outnumbered, you just wont know till you see the enemy force). Once figured out, roll your highest rep amount of dice for successes, whoever rolls most successes decides on side they want to deploy or order of deployment (if they deploy first or second). Deploy troops same way in the three sections on your side of deployment, no PEFS you can already see where the units are and then start the battle.
The other way i do it is use 3 PEFS and write how many units I'm deploying for each one. Then instead of placing your units at deployment you place your PEFs. Once a PEF draws line of sight to each other you reveal what is under them. Could be nothing or could be your whole force and you would then deploy your guys and roll for insight just like normal. I enjoy the second way to play as it brings in a fog of war that you don't know how the enemy is deployed and moving through the battlefield. I also use the reinforcements rules (slightly tweaked) so you might start out slightly outnumbered and then boom a whole other squad comes in and backs you up. I have made up a number of scenarios as well but they're in a binder at home and i'm at work. When i get a chance i'll post them up.

That's the Bug Home World. Yikes!Rolling "6" every time for "How many bugs" table was... well... disastrous; I know it's counter what most gamers want to do, but if it got bad early, you could have withdrew.Anyway, lesson learned, rules reviewed, we'll try again today!Question, are there any books with scenarios? Coming soon. Also I have impression this game is solo play oriented and I know that it's a toolbox for anything I want to do, but do you have any ideas to setup for example Patrol mission for player vs player? I'm asking because in every scenario we have instructions for PEFs and not for actual second player. Here's a good way to do it. Both players field their forces. Then one player goes on a Mission and the other player plays the PEFs. Then switch it up. The other good way is like fenris07 said for the second way.

Rolling "6" every time for "How many bugs" table was... well... disastrous; The good news is that with your squad wiped out, higher command has an excuse to send in a "rescue mission", with lots more guys! ie. A good excuse for a second game.
