Hello all! I'm wondering if there are some rules or some good ideas about how to do Kaiju style games. My boy loves big monsters hitting each other but isn't ready for a rules set like Monpoc, etc.
I've been looking at using some of the Dino rules from the old Larger than Life set but figured I'd ask here.
How would we do big monsters knocking down buildings and shrugging off tank shots? Thanks!

Interesting. Never thought of that kind of game. Easiest way is to take Tank Combat game like Hell Hath No Fury and sub out tanks for monsters and buildings. Count Armor for all of them, movement for monsters only and shooting for monsters that breathe flame. Keep tanks as they are. Just a quick thought. Melee between monsters would be simple.
Each rolls 2d6 versus Rep.
Pass 2d6 more - Loser OD. Pass 1d6 more - Roll versus AC like shooting. Beat AC, go Out of the Fight. Not beat AC, drop loser Rep 1 point. Fight again. Pass 0d6 more - Both lose 1 Rep, fight again. Hit 0 and monster is OOF. When melee over all Rep lost returns.

Nice! The combat I was just assuming would be like anything else. I've not seen the Tank Combat game- is that one of the Kickstarter ones?

Treat infantry as Rep 1 or 2 for shooting. Not because they can't hit, but their weapons have little chance of doing damage. Treat tanks as Rep 3 or 4 for shooting. For both, use a simple roll vs rep, pass 0 = no effect, pass 2 = Kaiju loses 1 rep, pass 1 = not sure about this one, lose an activation maybe When the Kaiju gets to Rep 0 it's dead (will probably run away first, though).
For kaiju vs kaiju, weapons include tail sweeps - short range multiple targets; fire breath - longer range, multiple targets; claws - cc only; lightning breath - long range, single target.
