Hello! I just discovered Two Hour Wargames, and have fallen head over heels in love with the reaction system. It's become my engine of choice for solo roleplaying. I spent the week after I discovered THW playing sessions of "And a Bottle of Rum" and writing them up in a Google Doc. No pictures, sadly, but here's a link to read them if anyone's interested: And a Bottle of Rum!Comments and criticism are welcome!

Wow, that was some adventure. Lots of Story in that one. I had forgotten how cool And a Bottle of Rum was. Maybe an upgrade with the new streamlined mechanics? Dang, five years old; goes by fast.

That is a large report! Great stuff. Shame we don’t have a picture of your set up :-)

Very interesting, but, have you played it without miniatures? just counters, or only write and roll? Tell us more about Francis!

I'm glad to hear people are enjoying the writeup! Again, apologies for the lack of pictures. Wow, that was some adventure. Lots of Story in that one. I had forgotten how cool And a Bottle of Rum was. Maybe an upgrade with the new streamlined mechanics? Dang, five years old; goes by fast. An upgrade would be great! It would be cool to have the option to use Battle Boards instead of the full 3x3 tabletop for smaller encounters (carousing, etc). Otherwise, though, I'm satisfied with the Rum! rules as-is. Actually I do use minis. I use LEGO for the man-to-man stuff and Wizkids Pirates CSG ships for sea battles. I have big collections of both. Next time I do a write up, I'll make sure to include pictures. If you're curious about Francis, check this out: www.anamelessnobleman.com/
