So here it goes: My first NUTS! AAR. This is the final mission of my very first NUTS campaign. As I've made a couple of rookie mistakes in my first few games and also still had to work out, which of the Q&E Rules I preferred over the 4th edition rules, I decided to make this game my first AAR. But since it's been the last game in my campaign, the enemy morale and investment level was obviously far from peaking... Historical context: The campaign is following the 50. Infantry Division of the Wehrmacht, or more specifically, the 1. Squad of the 2. HMG Platoon of the 12. company of the 123. Infantry-Regiment. This unit was involved in the German attack of soviet Russia from the very beginning and crossed the river Prut from Romania into Russia in July 1941. They initially encountered only very sporadic resistance and my first campaign attempted to capture that very situation: The initial invasion and the contact with a disorganized enemy that only mounted local resistance. Hope you enjoy the read! (I couldn't manage to get the PDF below 6MB, hence the link to my Google Drive...) drive.google.com/file/d/1yUxurnbmTOkQhIJP9Pl8mvrd8XhvTok5/view?usp=drive_link

Haven't had a chance to read through it yet (will soon!)...
But I love the formatting! Very cool look, and the angry Russian commands were fun.

Nice work! The formatting kinda reminds me of the old Call of Duty (original) briefings. The comic book format only makes me want to play a game. Advertising at its best!
I only have WWII figures in 54mm. I wonder if I could use those? Years ago I had figures in 1/72, but that time has passed.

Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it! As to your 54mm figures, I can’t see why it shouldn’t work. I’ve actually gone the opposite way and picked 15mm miniatures for the lack of enough play space. It also allowed me to work on the terrain faster and paint the minis much more haphazardly than 30mm minis would‘ve allowed me to do. As for rule adjustments: I ended up reducing all measurements given in the rulebook by 50%. So for example instead of 8 inches my base movement range was 4 inches. You could probably go the opposite direction with 54mm miniatures, but would need a somewhat larger playing area I imagine.

Doubling the "inch" measurements is pretty close to scaling up to 54mm, if you've got the space for it... Or just play bigger minis at the standard rules-as-written scale! Big bases are easier to "see", though.

Very cool AAR report and fun game. Love your terrain set up, too! What program did you use to make your game report?

Very cool AAR report and fun game. Love your terrain set up, too! What program did you use to make your game report? Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Most of the work/layout was done using Canva. The image manipulation & changes (explosions, blood & such) were done in Photoshop and Procreate.
