Desert War Campaign Book - Tobruk Question: Great question!
This refers to the bullet point in the "Special Rules" section, but I realize there is an error - this should read Campaign Morale, not Investment Level.
• There is a chance of “strategic” reinforcements that will improve your Campaign Morale Investment Level. Once per month roll 1d6, 1= +1 British Campaign Morale Investment Level, 5-6= +1 German Campaign Morale Investment Level.
What that means is, even after you've "won" by forcing your opponent's Campaign Morale to zero there's still a chance that High Command decides to throw Strategic Reserves into the fray, which is what happened at Tobruk. The port was considered so important by both sides that fresh and reconstituted units were just thrown right into battle until there were no more units left that could be sent without crippling their overall force structure.

Greetings! Now that the NUTS KS Campaign books are out there, folks are asking for clarifications. If you find typos, errors or need clarifications please Ask away! In the Weird War 2, pages 10-11, the indicated die rolls on the Attribute tables have issues with the die ranges. On page 10, 2-3 (1-2), 2-3 (3-4), 2-3 (4-5) have overlapped results for 4 and nothing for 6. Pages 10-11, you have a group for 2-3 and a group for 3-4, with overlap on 3 and nothing for 5. Probably should be 1, 2-3 (1-2), 2-3 (3-4), 2-3 (5-6), 4-5 (1-2), 4-5 (3-4), 4-5 (5-6), 6. But that's assuming the Zombie armies haven't been deployed to the Western Front. That tends to distort the dice fields. The entire series of books is an amazing resource and a phenomenal effort. Standing ovation!

Also on page 32, Tobruk Mini Campaign: on Objectives, it says "you must win the four scenarios to defeat..." both for the Axis and British. I guess this means the THREE scenarios laid out in the following two pages?

You have two ways to play it:
1. Yes, typo, win the THREE missions (Patrol, Defense and Raid), or, 2. Play it "as a Mission-driven campaign from April to August 1941 using the special “Tobruk Next Mission” table." So in that case you play until you break Enemy morale.
Thanks!

I just bought the NUTS! Platoon Leader supplement.. up to this point I've not played Platoon sized engagements. I don't have much room to play, let's say 3x3 or 3x4.
The thought of playing larger engagements sounds awesome. However It seems that could get crowded using platoons on both sides. Any ideas for "fitting" all that in there?

I usually play on a 4'x 6' table, but to use a 3x3 space you probably can game (in 28mm) with 1-2 squads. You could try treating the squads that can't fit as your Reinforcements rather than placing then right on the table. Another idea is you think of your table top gaming space as the "core" engagement zone, and the rest of your Platoon is moving with you on either flank. So you keep track of those using NUTS Quick Play. So if you meet a PEF in your main game, simply place a battleboard on one or either side with the rest of the Platoon, apply the same PEF to the flank forces and then play the engagement using NUTS QP - no movement, etc. - just Shooting and Will to Fight tests.

Thanx Easyeight. I should have mentioned that currently I am using 15mm figures from the Flames of War Starter set, HIT the Beach.
I do like the ideas however. I think what I'll do though is halve ranges and movement on my 3x3 area.

I actually play an entire Soviet platoon of 4 squads on a 4' x 4' table in 28mm, though the Soviets do tend to have a hoard mentality when it comes to tactics.
I have also played a SCW game in 20mm &kept the ranges & movement as written & had no problens.

I think what I'll do though is halve ranges and movement on my 3x3 area. If you're playing 15mm, then you should be fine with a 3x3 area. In that case, I usually would play all ranges and movement in centimeters as opposed to inches.

Hi, this is in response to a question on how to read the NUTS Campaign maps. Each Campaign Map has a series of icons that represent key points of interest for that campaign, then each of those are linked by dark lines indicating how you can move from icon to icon. Each icon also has information to help you set up your battles. 1. The Map Area Name: e.g. “Alexandria” 2. The General Terrain Tables used to create terrain for your games are listed. Some Areas may have only one terrain type, others may have two listed. E.g. Alexandria says "Desert/Clear." This means any given Mission you play (unless you’re using a pre-generated scenario) could be on either of those tables. 3. Weather Table and the Winter Months for this Map Area: This description is used with optional Weather Rules, giving you the general climate (e.g. Alexandria is "Desert") and Winter Months when Bad Weather is more likely to be rolled (e.g. Winter Months in Alexandria are generally Nov-Jan).
