Hi,
Reading the rules and trying to soak in the basics.
Stuck on Charging...
My understanding is that for determining the Charge into Melee, for each individual charging you roll 2d6 +xd6 vs their rep and your opponent rolls 2d6 + xd6 per individual vs their rep. The passed d6s are compared on Charge into Melee table.
Where I get confused is the example given...the only time the Brit and the German roll and count d6s passed is for Melee Combat. Did this example just skip the previously described Charge into Melee test and stayed focused on the Melee table? If so...could someone give a very basic example of how to do a 2 charger vs 1 attacker Charge into Melee test?
Example – A German charges a Brit, who can fire. The
Brit rolls 2d6 on the Shooting Table versus his Rep of 5
and scores a 5 and 6, passes 1d6, and has missed the
charging German. The German moves into contact and
melee begins. Both will roll d6 versus their Rep.
The Brit (Rep 4) rolls 3d6; 2d6 to start and +1d6 for
having a melee weapon. He scores a 1, 3 and 5, passing
2d6. The German (Rep 4) rolls 3d6 as well and scores a 3,
2 and 5, passing 2d6. The two soldiers have passed the
same number of d6.
Looking on the Melee Table under pass the same, each
soldier takes a -1 to Rep (page 30) and another round of
melee is immediately fought.
The German wins the next round of melee by passing 2d6
more than the Brit. The Brit is Obviously Dead and the
German’s Rep returns to 4.
Thank you!

Okay, makes sense. Go to page 98 and use the optional rules. Can still play it on the tabletop. I didn't want to make a new set of rules and added this for free. Much easier to play and blends the Charge Into Melee Test into the In Sight. Sent you an email too.
