Recently bought these rules and have a couple of questions. Star Power says you can use to avoid Rep Loss, and gives an example of losing 2 Rep on the Fire Table. The Fire Table does not have any results causing loss of Rep?! Can anyone clarify please? Secondly, regarding Fame in the campaign game, an entry says Shot Down - lose 5 fame. The only results of shot down i can see are when Hull is reduced to 0, and the fighter explodes, killing the pilot. Again can anyone explain please.

Here goes. 1 - That reference is to other games that you can use your Characters in, such as 5150 Back Alleys Bright Lights, and is a bit confusing. 2 - You can use that when your ship explodes. The damage system in THW is Obviously Dead - Out of the Fight - and Carry On (no damage). In FP if you blew up, you're Obviously Dead - but you can use the Star Power to reduce it to Out of the Fight then Carry On. Since there are numerous 5150 games that your Star can crossover to, I left it in there. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for the quick reply Ed. Good to know that the star can survive being shot down! Makes the campaignmore survivablr.

Yeah, with all the 5150 games being compatible sometimes I lift rules out put don't clarify what happens like being shot down. Thanks again, Ed

One further question, on the contact table, are the +1/+2 modifiers “to your score”; to the die roll or to the number of dice passed? So on a Defend the line mission all pdfs would be automatic Contacts?

(Should say roll 2d6). So, to your d6 scores, not your Rep. Example - Rep 4 is the target number. I roll a 3 and 4, this converts to a 4 and 5 on a Deep Patrol - passing 1d6. Hope this helps.

Here is the text in the new updated file. RESOLVING PEFS When Player Fighters and a PEF occupy the same Area it's time to resolve the PEF. Here's how we do it: • Consult the Contact Table (page 15). • Roll 2d6 modifying each score based on the applicable Circumstance. • Go down the left-hand column to the appropriate row and across to see what you have run into. You may be required to roll an additional 1d6. • Replace the PEF Counter with Fighters as needed. • Discard the PEF Counter and move to the next PEF.
