Hi all,
On the old Yahoo forum there was a contest (without prizes) to name the three provinces of the Border Kingdom. I can't find the winning names in my piles of notes, does anyone remember the names of the provinces?

AF, I have a pdf titled "Border Kingdoms - Who Are They by Kingdom." It lists the kingdoms as Les Marches, Donnerwald, and Jellway. Not stated, but to judge by the nations mentioned in each table, the order seems to be west-to-east. There's no indication of author or source. The pdf is in typical THW graphic style, so I assumed it's "official."

Thanks, those names are from the Talomir Tales: Druid's Children, which I forgot I have. I'll have to play with the names - for a Kingdom modelled on HYW French, they don't sound very French.

Hola, Here are some maps from the unreleased Border Kingdoms book. YABP - Yet Another Book Project! Also have a bunch of background on the Border Kingdoms as well. The first one is a Travel Map, the other is a Province Map with more details, and Druid's Children has some as well.

After looking at all of the names, I can only assume you guys slept through French class! Thanks for the information I'll see what makes sense in the series of posts I'm writing for NaNoWriMo - at the end of day 2 I've gotten 4,735 words written.

Awesome! I just haven't used NaNoWriMo very much, do you find it helpful?

Well, NaNoWriMo really isn't much of a writing tool as it is a network of writers all trying to write 50,000 words in the month of November. It does have a project tracker that keeps daily word counts. That's about it for tools. However, there are a lot of articles about writing and it provides a place where you can meet and network with other writers in your local area or anywhere in the world.
I decided for this year, I would write full stories of the WHAT encounters in the campaign I'm playing. My star is currently in the Border Kingdom recruiting a band for a potential raid on a keep in Goranth to find a magic tome.
In fact, she has just remarked to a potential employer that Donnerwald is a strange name for a duchy.

I've just noticed this new map is different from the one in RRtK. In the map in RRtK, it shows the Border Kingdom's eastern border to be with Goranth instead of with Hykar.

Did I hallucinate this or did the name "Falkirk" turn up in connection with the Border Kingdoms ?

Well it was a long time ago and a throwaway line at that Warrior Heroes: Armies & Adventures P.5 "Fish is in the Border Kingdoms and decides to use the Inn at Falkirk as his base."

Ah, that explains it. Yep, was a city...well, probably still is one. Yikes, almost 14 years ago.

Yep, was a city...well, probably still is one. Ed . I've lived in Falkirk , the real one in Scotland , most of my life Though not a city it's a pretty important place. 50 yards from my door I can make out the earthworks of the Antonine Wall , less than a mile away are the sites of both Battles of Falkirk. Just down the road was the Carron Ironworks where the Napoleonic Carronade cannons were forged ; further up the road , Nobel had a dynamite factory. We're also the site of the last battle fought on UK soil, folks think that was Culloden but Battle of Bonny Muir was April 5th 1820. Guess this explains why that throwaway line stuck
