Just setting up the first scenario for the Big Hurt and on the map it shows one the squares as an Ambush Position. I understand PEFs and the Reinforcement locations but I am unsure what the Ambush Position is for. Do the German reinforcements move to that location on their activation. Could someone help me out please?
Cheers

Correct. The set up refers to an ambush, this is where it took place.

Thanks for the answers.
I have another question - Do the Americans get reinforcements in the 1st scenario? I rolled a 6 which suggests an M5A1, but the terrain is all woods so I guess I can't have it? Do I minus 2 on the table like the Germans?

Just re-roll. Makes more sense as you did score reinforcements.

Sorry - another question. In the Scenario notes it states the US Support Level is 2. I can't find any reference to that in the scenario book or 4th edition rules. What does it refer to?
Thanks

Here goes. Page 3 Artillery.
WHO CAN CALL FOR FIRE
Any Leader or Forward Observer with access to a radio can call in artillery fire.
REGISTERED TARGET
Registered Targets use preplanned target locations called Registered Target Points (RTP). These specific points are coordinated with the supporting artillery unit prior to the battle. Here is how fire on RTPs is carried out.
HOW FIRE IS CALLED IN Only one RTP per turn may be fired upon per friendly support level.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Ed. It makes sense other than in Scenario 1 the US doesn't get any RTPs. Sorry if I'm being stupid.

No worries, not stupid. There's a lot of info in the books and better to ask questions than not play.

I am loving it. Had Nuts 2 but the person I was playing with moved away. With lockdown thought I would get 4th Edition and give it a go. Really enjoying it and love the streamlined Fire/Reactions. That speeds things up no end.
US have just reached the tree. Only 1 PEF has had any enemy, a half squad. Got away with murder as kept rolling 1s on damage table. Love the uncertainty as I have had another PEF popup behind me, but turned out to be false alarm. Phew.
