Hello, I am looking for a medieval (historical) skirmish game with the reaction system (I am a solo player). I think Swordplay and Talomir Tales rules could be ok even if there is fantasy elements. But,
what are the differences between these two rules ?
Help me to find my path !

Medieval game with Reaction System? Talomir Tales would work great for that. Bi9g thing is it has 10 more Men Lists than swordplay and they are based on Medieval armies. Also there are: More Races for fantasy. Skills - Which makes your Character more unique - People and Savvy Skills. A definite Career where you only have so many Encounters - games. Tons more Magic items - which may not apply to Medieval unless you find one in a stone. A Campaign System. 14 adventures that apply to fantasy and medieval. Plus a 16 scenario linked game. Hope this helps.

In Swordplay 2018 there are: Caster, Knight, Shooter, Soldier, and Thief.
In Distant Shores you also get: Civilians, Creatures, Healer, and Paladin.
Distant Shores is my most favoritist of them all.

Ok, TT:DS will be mine on Tuesday (with Nuts Compendium , but via amazon.fr prime, shipping costs USA-France are too expansive to buy from THW webstore) PS : I read the existence, a long long time ago, of "Montjoie"... Was it on CR1.0 rules ? Could it be playable with CR3.0 ? Where could I find it ?

Yep, 15 years old. Very outdated and very, very slow with too much dice rolling to get to the same results that take one or two today. Army lists are okay. You could use the army lists and play TT with them. Email me and I'll try to find a copy. Not sure if I have one.

Wasn't the army lists from. Montjoie updated in Captains & Kings? Anglo-Saxons, Normans, Vikings, Early Crusaders, Fatimid Egyptions, Seljuk Turks, Ayyubid Egyptians, Komenan Byzantines, Later Crusaders, Feudal English, Feudal French & Feudal Scots?

Captains & Kings is a large skirmish rule set which replaced Montjoie with better mechanics which sped up game play and made games flow better. Like Montjoie, it is Warband combat in the Medieval Ages - you can raise your social standing from a Captain commanding only 10 men to King, commanding an entire army.
Like a lot of the older THW rules, they are sold by Rebel Minis. It has better siege rules than Montjoie & rules for campaigns. IMO
The fantasy equivalent - Warbands! Has rules for Warband combat in the Classical ages - chariots & elephants. You would have to provide your own historical lists, but these rules would work from Troy to Hannibal.

Ok, I thank you. Is it with CR2 or CR3 rules, or another game engine ?

Ok, I thank you. Is it with CR2 or CR3 rules, or another game engine ? Neither, it was a unit based game where you had multiple units.
