Hi All,
I've spent the past few days going through my new Fighter Pilot rules. One question has arisen: How do pilots lose Rep? The only place I see for potential loss is on the Continue On table, which seems to reflect loss of morale more than actual wounds. Can one use Star Power to avoid that loss?
Is there any way a pilot can be wounded in dogfights? On page 4 in the example is says Billy Pink lost 2 Rep by gunfire on the Fire Table, and thus can use Star Power to avoid this, but I don't see wounds on any of the results on said table. Do pilots lose Rep along with Thrust, Firepower or Hull loss? (That seems pretty deadly, but I'm not sure how else this is reflected.)
Thanks for any help!

Hi All,
Here goes.
I've spent the past few days going through my new Fighter Pilot rules. One question has arisen: How do pilots lose Rep? The only place I see for potential loss is on the Continue On table, which seems to reflect loss of morale more than actual wounds. Can one use Star Power to avoid that loss? Yes they can. In the original game you could get hit by fire and drop Rep but the game went downhill pretty quickly as you had to track Rep on each pilot. I left it in there just in case - see following answers.
(That seems pretty deadly, but I'm not sure how else this is reflected.) The house rule is you can substitute Rep damage for Hull, Thrust or Firepower and it could still be removed by Star Power but only if it wasn't destroying the ship. So hit "0" Hull, you're still toast.. This makes it possible to fight three or more enemies at once. The downside, your Mission can't count as a success (page 5). Hope this helps.
Thanks for any help!
Daryl

Ed, thanks so much. That helps a lot. I'll play a few games and try out those options!
