Hi all! Just played a patrol with my British squad and it turned out great so I wanted to share! My section (all rep 4 with star NCO with rep 5) entered the field on the forest road in sector 8. PEFs were in sectors 5,6 and 3. I began by moving my squad up the road towards the town. On my second turn I scored a 7 on activation which resulted in reinforcements in form of a squad with AT weapons coming from edge of sector 7. I played these reinforcements as the arrival of my platoon HQ unit. 2 of the enemy PEFs that were closest along with the town buildings within 12cm were (un)fortunately resolved as nothing. My platoon HQ moved through the field and forest in sectors 7 and 4 towards the patrol objective in sector 1. My own section, now split in 2 fire teams, moved inside the town where it encountered nothing, but it did trigger the last remaining PEF that came into sight just outside of town... I rolled for 2 enemy squads in defensive positions. In a brief fire exchange my BREN gunner made visible enemy units in one squad duck down while putting their NCO out of action. The other german squad that was fired upon by loader and second rifleman returned fire and scored one fatal headshot on one of my riflemen. My platoon HQ kept going towards the objective. Next turn new reinforcements rolled in on my side. A Cromwell came in through sector 9 and began pounding German trenches. With Germans suppressed my squads moved forward reached the objective and returned home. Cromwell followed soon. Germans remained in defensive positions and lost one man dead and 2 wounded. As mentioned I lost a single man to a return fire head shot. I just love how this game could have gone completely the other way if any of the building resulted in enemy unit or if pefs and reinforcements resolved differently.
