Are there plans for a modern setting, like the Iraq War or Afghanistan, from 2HWG?

Maybe, would need army lists. I think a "Blackhawk down" style rulebook would sell very well, with Africans with AK47 and RPG and Mechanicals vs US Rangers and SEAL and maybe some UN troops. Maybe developed in the same way as FNG, with tours and such.
Another possibility could be counter strike booklet with missions to rescue hostages from a plane, from an embassy, escorting VIPs, SD Osamas, etc.

All about the army lists, If I had those and some Mission descriptions, could pop this out rather quickly.

I'm probably not a potential customer (I have too many periods already), but have to say that I think a modern ops THW release has a ton of potential.

I've used THW rules for several modern games...pretty much a natural fit. My hang-up is coming up with stats for the different types of modern military vehicles...etc...I'm not a stats guy unfortunately. I think an awesome setting for Modern THW would be Lemuria, the imagiNation used in Colonial Adventures (I think?). I've toyed with the idea of a campaign based on a Rainbow Six-ish style special forces unit (i.e. Task Force Black in Iraq) that is tasked with tracking down a madman with a <insert doomsday weapon>, or following a 12-man ODA team trying to organize the locals to rebel against <insert evil warlord/outside force>. I have a PDF that Ed had from ATZ that was a Hostage Rescue scenario that was pretty cool...I just removed the Zombies from the mix and used it. I'd love to help with an official supplement though...it's be great to see one developed. Now back to real life, my kids are playing Pokemon on the Switch....I hate Pokemon...lol Brian

I’m currently working on getting a draft in Ed’s hands. I could definitely see a companion release set in an Imagination as some gamers find current modern settings too close to home for gaming.

Will do Thanks for the offer but I’ll stay focused on the historic modern release for now.
