I know there is a Big Battle book for company size actions, but does anyone play large actions with the regular rules?
What is the biggest force you would use with regular NUTS! per side?

At conventions, I run games with 3 companies per side. That said, I normally have 6 -8 gamers at the table.

I have found that unless like Flashcove1 you have lots of players you are better off moving to Big Battle.

I know there is a Big Battle book for company size actions, but does anyone play large actions with the regular rules? What is the biggest force you would use with regular NUTS! per side? That depends on how well the player knows the rules. The better you know the ruels the larger games you can play. Example= My squad fires. I roll the dice and look a the chart to see what happens. 8 = I see that the guy in cover is missed and he shoots back. Then I see that he misses me and I can shoot back. I shoot back and miss. Then I see that he has to Ducks Back. Now if I know the game I roll an 8 and miss he fires back and misses I shoot again and he ducks back. Too many times newbies try to play a Platoon and spend all their time reading tables and then complain that the rules don't work, not realizing it's becasue the rules ar enew to them. It's like anything, the better you are at it, the quicker it happens.

With several platoons or several gamers, do you use regular 3x3 battle maps or bigger maps ?

Biggest I've done has been 2 squads vs 2.5 squads due to reinforcements. I started with just a squad on the table and things escalated quickly lol. Granted, my playing space is only bout 2.5x3 so if i played on a 4x6 I'd probably bump it up to a platoon due to all the extra space for more units. Ed is right in that once you get the tables and rules down it goes really smooth and fast, especially with the 4th edition changes.
