Starting a campaign in this game for the first time...
though now I'm seeing this one is 10 years old. How time flies.
ANYWAY. Has anyone out there made tables/rules for when/how NPC commanders hire Mages/Heroes and the like for their armies? I mean, I was thinking of just flipping a coin: They can now buy a Captain with that roll, do they Y/N? Just wondering if someone came up with something more nuanced than that (or if I missed a rule somewhere).
Thanks!

I'd go with: Roll 2d6 versus National Morale - a "6" is always a failure. Pass 2d6 = Hire him! Pass 1d6 = Re-roll counting pass 1d6 as pass 0d6 Pass 0d = noting out there.

I'll give that a shot, thanks.
I just went with 50/50 and everyone who had a chance ended up with 1 lvl 1 MU....except for me, who got a lvl 2...MUWUAHAHAHAHAH!
And congratulations on your 666th post! (I think)
I'm looking forward to this, I'm doing a "Mini" campaign pitting all the "evil" realms against each other for supremacy, to see who will take on the "Goodies." It's:
Orcs Black Moon Dwarves Black Moon Elves Red Moon Dwarves Undead
I'm the CinC of the Undead, the rest are NPCs. The first spring rolls (heh, spring rolls) started with the Orcs invading the Elves, the Red Dwarves invading the Black Dwarves, and the Undead ALSO invading the Black Dwarves. I'm assuming with we both destroy the Black Dwarves, we'll both immediately go to war to see who can take over the Province.
I expect many shenanigans.
