Often moving vehicles provide cover for infantry moving alongside. How can one achieve this in NUTS!? Vehicles can provide Cover two ways, though in some cases an unarmored vehicle only provides Concealment. 1. As you describe, the vehicle acts as a moving obstacle. Figures behind it that are blocked from LOS by an enemy can only be engaged with indirect fire. 2. A figure kneeling or leaning around a vehicle gets Cover. So does a figure that is inside a vehicle but partially exposed also gets Cover -- like a TC with the commanders hatch on the tank open, or the MG gunner on a half track. However, keep in mind that this usually applies to an armored vehicle or the body of an unarmored vehicle. For instance, if a figure is leaning around the front of an unarmored truck or car they would likely get Cover. If they are in the truck bed under the canvas canopy, they would only get Concealment. Does that help?

My question is more along the lines of, how does one move a vehicle and the infantry unit moving with it, using it as cover, at the same time?

I would use the same rules that you use when two different groups of infantry start within range of each other and rope them into one big group. Move both of them under one group leader at the same time per activation rules with the vehicle going "first" and the infantry behind it. As soon as it kicks off an insight test do your 2" move whether you want them peeking around the tank or totally behind it in cover. Everyone is moving at the same time so just because you moved the tank up first doesn't mean its leaving the infantry behind, you just haven't picked them up yet since you only have so many hands to do that with. If playing against someone i would recommend before moving everything say what you are trying to do first. That way everyone is on the same page but it should be no problem to do using the NUTS! rule set to provide mobile cover.

This has been a buggaboo for me for years with other systems. It's impossible to move two units at the same time to simulate this in so many games.
