Someone asked about the differences so here we go. They are compatible, one is not better than the other, just a matter of preference. SLGM has 35 very nicely done color counters. NL has counters too. SLGM has an Alley Battle Board as well as a street. NL street only. SLGM covers Cyndee in greater detail as well as Special Operators. SLGM has two new Encounters - Persuade and B&E. SLGM Lists incorporate People and Savvy Skills in them, NL does not. SLGM has a new Race in it. SLGM has 16 Encounters telling three different stories. SLGM more New Hope City detailed as that's where all the adventures take place.
Rest are really similar to identical. You cna brign your Characters back and forth wiht no tweaking needed. Hope this helps.

If you’re completely new to both, No Limits has all the space faring rules for zooming around the galaxy and trading in cargo or taking passengers which SLGM doesn’t. So my opinion (for what its worth) is you should have both for a complete game with, well no limits!
