Welcome to the forum! What kind of games are you interested in, i.e. fantasy, historical, sci fi, etc.?
All the above are dabbled in to be fair! My first loves were WW2 and Napoleonics, but as old fartdom creeps up I'm drawn more to skirmish games... fewer figures, smaller table and it's easier (and cheaper) to try different periods and wotnot.
