I know you're supposed to base each soldier on its own individual base as this is a skirmish game, but the MG42 without the loader being able to reach the gun looks odd. I notice Bolt Action, another skirmish game, bases its MG teams together.
Does anyone do that for Nuts? How would that affect gameplay?

Hi k07 l have the same issue with my heavy weopon crews which were based for chain of command, What I have been doing is putting a round red coloured marker by a fig whem it is killed another marker by the fig with a D for duck back, H for Hunkered down and an L for left the battlefield written on them-when a figure has to move just move the marker with the appropriate letter on it to represent them, Tidderley winks can be brought cheaply on ebay to use as the markers.

When I have a team all mounted on the same base, I do what Leigh does & use a marker. What I did for my Spanish Civil War figures was to base the loader on the edge of his base instead of the center & the same for the gunner so that when you put the two bases in base to base contact, the loader is feeding the gun.

Thanks. I bought a bag of beads to use as markers from the dollar store. Yellow is ducked back, orange is hunkered down, red is out of the fight, white is obviously dead. I put green down by groups after the activation role that have a high enough rep to go that turn and change it to purple once they've all activated. Blue marks units that are prone. I had trouble tracking turns without all the markers!
I ended up basing them separately at the edge of their pennies.

I use them for Nuts! and Bolt Action 28mm and when Space is limited I use my Flames of War based figures. Zero impact on play. I either just note a loss with a small marker or casualty cap.

Here is how I use markers to show surviving crew members from a game that I played with my mate Alan last Sunday, the pz111 has the tank commander C and the radio operator R left after being hit by a 6pdr AT gun.
