Ok, it's raining cats & dogs here where I live & I decided to do my weekly grocery shopping early - rain, early morning, no crowds, right? Wrong! The parking lot was packed, the store was packed with a lot of creepy people wearing examination gloves & masks.
There were no potatoes, no rice, nearly out of onions, nearly out of eggs, nearly out of water, nearly out of chicken stock & the worst was the paper goods aisle - no toilet paper, no paper towels, no tissues (Kleenex).
However, since I shop weekly, I did notice a lot of price increases. Onions that were .69 a pound last week were .99 this week. Chicken stock was $1.19 last week, $1.99 this week.
It's All Things Zombie without the zombies out there!

It’s pretty crazy here as well. And the health administration here in NC is saying that you’re in greater danger from the flu. At this moment, I feel the real threat is people wiping out all the stores.

Its just as mad in England. Keep a tight hold of your lucky rabbits foot, these are weird times. In England there is deep fascination with filling up your trolley with toilet rolls right now. I believe they are going to build a wall with them and hide behind it?! Civilisation is such a tiny veneer over headless madness don’t you think?

That's why I trust in God, not in man. My favorite scripture from the Bible is Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go."

I disagree, the zombies are out there. They are stocking up on toilet paper and water. Rumor has it that toilet paper and face masks are made from the same base materials, so if production shifts to massive amounts of face masks we'll all be SOL on the toilet paper. By the way, they're not. And I don't understand the water bit at all, my tap is working just fine.
The good news is that everyone is handling this outbreak just like we did for MERSA, bird flu, swine flu, HIV, Ebola, H1N1, SARS, etc. sigh, sorry for the rant.

Well, the theory is that people will start getting sick and some will be the power company employees, which will then lead to the electric grid going off-line. Then, eventually, the water pump systems will fail and the drinking water will not be good at all. Not just anyone can run a dam or power plant.

Yep, have it here in Havasu but not as bad as we only have 60k people here and next town of more than 5K is 60 miles away.Plus I'm on the Colorado River so walk two blocks, fill up the water cooler and go home and boil it just in case.

Oh, I understand the theory, but the recovery time for most folks is about 2-3 days, not weeks or months.

There really has never been a better time for some ATZ or After The Horsemen. I’ll let you choose which!
Being serious for 1 minute, best of health to everyone here.

Things in Southern California are odd, but then, living here one gets rather used to it. The market this morning was a zoo. That said, most people had smiles on their faces, were reasonably polite and there were no untoward incidents that I saw. The toilet paper was all gone. Water too.
Making the best of things, I've spent a pleasant, self-quarantined day doing some Judge Dredd gaming while listening to the rain pattering outside. Tomorrow after mass I'll build a fire. Things could be worse.
I'll echo Crinkle's sentiments: stay healthy, everybody!

Stay healthy, all. Here in the suburb of New Orleans (Metairie), it's pretty much the same as everywhere else. We don't have the water problems of New Orleans because our system is much newer, and we have the Mississippi and Lake Ponchartrain to draw from. (yes,it's filtered and cleaned, and we have a filter) As an over 70 hot shot delivery guy, I'm puzzled as to how I can do my job from home.
