The rules in Charioteer say that there are 3 slots, but the 3rd slot can be passed on both sides. Are there 4 slots then?

That's a good one. The upcoming board game version has it correct so I'll pass it on. Slot three can only be passed to its left.

Thanks for the quick reply! I’m designing 3D printable pieces to take Charioteer on on a trip with me. So far I’ve gotten it down to a box 6”x3”. How many dice do you estimate I will need for racing 4 chariots?

How many dice do you estimate I will need for racing 4 chariots? Maybe 3-4 each. But remember only two players will roll off against each other at a time so we just swap the dice.

www.thingiverse.com/thing:4184333Link to the pieces I designed. If you're not comfortable with people being able to print their own pieces, let me know and I'll take it down. Not sure where you stand on generating interest in the game vs. people buying only the rules instead of the whole game.

Another question: Let's say there's a race of 3 chariots. Chariot 1 finds himself in 1st spot 1st slot. Chariot 2 is in 2nd spot 2nd slot. Chariot 3 in in 3rd spot 3rd slot. Chariot 2 passes Chariot 1 putting Chariot 1 in the 2nd spot 1st slot. Which chariot has its turn next? Does Chariot 1 get a chance to pass Chariot 2 and regain the lead because it is in position to pass or does initiative transfer to Chariot 3 who is also in position to pass Chariot 1? I guess the real question is how many times can a chariot have the initiative at each position on the track?

I guess the real question is how many times can a chariot have the initiative at each position on the track? Actions go from front to back so Chariot 1 goes first. It's in the lead so it's finished. Chariot 2 passes him and 1 drops back. Stays there until next turn when he would act based on his position - 2 or 3 if the 3rd chariot passes him.
