This is probably a noob question, but here goes. I'm having trouble understanding "Mandatory Fire." A Skirmish or Missile unit in LOS and range of an enemy: 1) Can Activate and fire; 2) Can Activate and Move (in which case it cannot fire); or 3) Not activate and do nothing. Tell me where I'm wrong.
Example: A Skirmish unit facing no enemy Activates and wheels to face an enemy skirmish unit within its firing range. It halts because it is in range and can fire, but it cannot fire because it has moved. It must wait for Reaction or its next Activation to fire.
Question 2: I Activate a Body of 2 Skirmish units. They both have separate enemy units in range and LOS. I can have them both fire for a single Activation cost.
Thanks! (I'm just starting to seriously get into this game and it's looking like a winner so far! Well done. Very creative.)

A Skirmish or Missile unit in LOS and range of an enemy: 1) Can Activate and fire; 2) Can Activate and Move (in which case it cannot fire); or 3) Not activate and do nothing. Tell me where I'm wrong. Mandatory Fire takes place when a Missile or
Skirmish unit begins the turn in range of an enemy,
does not move, and does not contact the target.
So activate when you are in range and LOS you must fire.Example: A Skirmish unit facing no enemy Activates and wheels to face an enemy skirmish unit within its firing range. It halts because it is in range and can fire, but it cannot fire because it has moved. It must wait for Reaction or its next Activation to fire. Correct.Question 2: I Activate a Body of 2 Skirmish units. They both have separate enemy units in range and LOS. I can have them both fire for a single Activation cost. Correct, activation is by the body if units regardless of size. Thanks! (I'm just starting to seriously get into this game and it's looking like a winner so far! Well done. Very creative.) Thank you!

Thanks, Ed. In retrospect, probably a dumb question. I keep reading between the lines and seeing things that aren't really there. Thanks for the prompt answer.

Nope, never any dumb questions. People learn in different ways, what may be clear to one person may not be clear to another. All good.
