A bestiary and four nuts books? Awesome! Looking forward to them all. Have written the two ETO books, Western Front and Eastern Front. Grinding through the Desert War campaign book, then I'll tackle the PTO book. I hope this hasn’t been pushed back due to the new 5150 project? Dont get me wrong tho, both are very exciting!

Yeah, it takes some focus to get a book done. And after binging on WW2 campaign books most of the year, the 5150 core book was a nice change. After this is pushed gently out the door to print, my priorities - PTO campaign book (and finalize the series in general), NUTS Weird War 2 update, Talomir bestiary and resource books.

My main issue with not being abler to spin up a quick fantasy campaign is the lack of creatures and monsters for encounters. I like what Ive found on the forums, these mythical creatures and a few others.
I am wondering if anyone has come up with a "formula" for creating these. For example, I decide I want my characters to run into some lizardmen. How would you begin?

Which rules do you have? You can look at the monsters and compare the ones you want with those that are in the book. So Lizardmen are kind of Orcish. Use that list for Rep, decide what their would be like naturally or if they would need armor. Weaposn off of the list for Orcs or another. Or use this. The Saurian Frontier.pdf (172.32 KB)

That helps me a bit as well. I’m currently reading the Conan books and now I want to play some games in the Hyborian age. Most of the creatures match up. Ape demons can just be orcs. Reptile men are basically saurians with tentacles. Unfortunately I have no clue what a Death Flower would be. Maybe a super slow wizard.

I have some stuff in draft for an unreleased Talomir fantasy bestiary - let me know what critters you're looking for and I'll send them to you.

Yeah, did tons of work and then stalled it since I made the scope too large. It started off as a stand-alone bestiary and then grew into a mega Talomir source book with more maps and country info, etc. Probably be just fine to pare it back to its original intent and update it to make sure it's in line with current rules.

Perhaps you could add to that a list of legendary characters from Talomir in a similar fashion to Mordheim did.

Understandable. I'd say just start with the main creature stats and encounter tables and go from there. If it sells well, you can always do a second and so on with more of what you'd like to add.
