Another one.. The only YouTube Tutorial is 2nd edition rules.. How far off is this compared to 4th? Ty Some things are the same but the Shooting, Melee and Reaction Tests are different. Much quicker but same results. One big change is in shooting where if you miss, the other guy immediately returns fire. If he misses and you fire back again and miss, he ducks back. Lot less Reaction Tests. Also 4th Edition gives you rules of smaller Missions with fewer guys. Also a section called Chocolate and Cigarettes which allows you some new Missions as well as dealing with Civilians. Ty Ed..I sure wish someone would step up and make a tutorial on YouTube. I messaged the one gentleman today..He mentioned he hadn’t played in a while and likely would pick up the 4th edition rules. who knows maybe he’ll make a new video !

Real quick question. I'm getting through the rule book and have a very good overall idea of how gameplay will work.
With regard to the initial Miniatures I'll need it looks as though the random tables could draw a plethora of encounters?
My initial idea was to just buy one pack of German and one pack of American Infantry likely Airfix Should I consider Vehicles as well and it looks as though I should plan on constructing some form of building as well before actually committing to gameplay.

One of the mantras of THW is "play the game." Play with what you have. You do this by pre-loading the reinforcements table with what you have (in other THW games this is often the Who Are They table.). If you don't have fighting vehicles, for example, replace those entries in the table with either "nothing" or with what you have an extra LMG or infantry squad. That way you get to enjoy the game while building your collection.
You don't have to have a building. Your squad may be sent to take a hill because the hill could serve as an OP or perhaps is an enemy OP. Terrain is important. Without it the game, any game, becomes a Hollywood old wet gunfight in the middle of the street. You could also use a bombed out or ruined building which is easy to construct. Another option, & one I use a great deal is a paper building. You can usually find paper or cardstock buildings on sites such as Drive Thru RPG or Wargames Vault for free or around a dollar. Just print it, cut it out, glue it together & play.
Oh, & if you haven't - be sure to play the examples in the Stop! Boxes.

Appreciate you being able to read through my hieroglyphics as my text and talk driving to work was terrible this morning LOL. Cool that I can modify lists and I will certainly look into paper buildings.

If you dont have the vehicle miniature model(s), you can use a template paper model.

Sorry for the probably obvious question....
So contemplating 20 mm or 1/ 72nd scale 4 infantry probably AirFx.
I'm having a hard time finding the vehicle solution. From my limited research I have found 1/76 is this close enough?

Most if not all of these I hadn’t heard of. At the end of the day I think I’ll opt for airfix from Amazon for simplicity and price point. Considering I don’t have anything at all at the moment it will get me started not too painfully.

In terms of scale, if you are going to use a big terrain for a big game of Nuts!, 15-20mm is great. I myself went for the Plastic Soldier 15mm minis. Faster to paint, dont take much space and faster to 3d print without losing much detail.
