Hello everyone!!!
Easy Table Manager NO THW info.xlsm (266.41 KB)
The attached spreadsheet was created for D&D and similar RPGS but can easily handle THW games as well. I will post later today/tomorrow a complete guide based on my own experience, but basic instructions are provided within the spreadsheet.
This tool allows you to create tables connected with sub-tables to easily input all data from THW games and to "roll" on these tables simultaneously or in sequence, and receive the results, in a second or less. It is particularly useful for tables that depend on results of other tables such as PEF resolution and recruitment of NPCs. I personally used it to run an entire game of Future Tales with almost all results from tables exclusively from the spreadsheet.
In a few words, if the game rules can be presented in a table and there are not unknown variables that will change too much during gaming, this thing can easily handle them. An example of what cannot be handled easily would be tables that depend on the Rep of your own Star (or Darkness levels) but even this can be overcome by making numerous Tables, one for each Rep- it just takes more work.
Here are a few samples from Future Tales.
Quest Generator/Objective: clues: 3 Find lost object…last time held by a Criminal and Beware…an Evil Military Vilain lurks about…
Big Bad and Minions generator: The Cult Leader is armed with a Solid Melee Weapon. His followers are 2 less than your group, each a Criminal Element Rep 4, that can use Magic and have the Initiative Trait.
NPC recruitment: 2 NPCs available. They are a Robot Exotic Entertainer Civilian Rep 3, unarmed , and a Human Criminal Smuggler Criminal element Rep 4 armed with a Blaster.
The list goes on. this thing is great. Entering the data takes time- but once the data is in, it can be copied and re-used in other tables as needed.
I will provide more details on how to use this tomorrow or later today.
Note/disclaimer: this is a "pure" spreadsheet as it was found online and NOT my personal copy. It has no THW related tables on it. It was made under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonComercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
Best,
