I am back home after nearly fourteen weeks on the road, and looking forward to working on gaming projects.
Currently, I have a tramp steamer that is in need of a deck gun in 15mm scale. Any suggestions where I can get a decent one? The guns I have looked at on Shapeways are all too big, and even 20mm scale guns just don't look good with the 15mm minis.

I have a doubt, are you looking for a cannon, pirates style, or something smaller like a gun on a holder?

Looking more for something like the deck gun on a WW2 submarine.

If you were doing 25mm are larger, there are plenty. At 15mm, the best I can find is Eureka has a 1941 Lewis gun on AA mount fired by a marine in the late 30s early 40s uniform. The other thing you could do would be to buy a HMG or artillery piece from Irregular's useful gun range and scratch build a pylon to mount it on.
I doubt many tramp steamer captains or owners would pay for anything more than a HMG on a tripod or mounted on a railing. Probably the largest would be a 40mm Pom Pom gun.

Thanks Floozy! I had not even thought about the WW1 style AAMG. I also fount Eureka had some naval gunners, so I might be able to modify one of the guns for lower angle use with a sailor manning it.

Something like what is on the top, or the gun that is on the right?

Those guns are 25mm/28mm and from either Houston Naval or Riveresco if I remember. The boat is scratch built, the figures are from Foundry - one might be Old Glory. Finding deck guns in 28mm is easy, it's harder for 15mm.

Slorm, What I originally had in mind was something like a WW2 submarine deck gun but now I think I will go with the anti-aircraft machine gun on a cut down mount for lower angle use. Pictures of what I mean.

And about craigt13 requirements... I thought that other scales could pass... bigger guns better guns 😜

The problem with using 28mm artillery with 15mm figures is that controls, handles, etc. would all be out of scale. And you would have a gun so large crewmen wouldn't be able to lift the shells to load the gun. When you get to the smaller scales, the size of equipment, buildings and terrain become very noticeable.

It's required, to my mind, a list of colonial movie list, mainly safari ones. Do you agree with me?
