I'm thinking of posting some after-action reports and/or stories based on the 5150: New Beginnings campaign I've just started.
I know several people on this forum have been doing that sort of thing for quite some time, so I'm hopeful you might have some advice for me.
In the interest of full disclosure, I haven't had a personal website since... 1999? And haven't been active on any social media or blogging platforms for the past 7 years, so I'm a bit out of the loop.
Is there a preferred, simple, and ideally free place y'all would recommend to host occasional content written by someone who goes through periods of months of activity followed by years of neglect?
Would it be simplest to just start a thread on this forum and add plain-text updates?
Would anyone be interested in occasionally perusing another player's AARs and short fiction, potentially with occasional illustrations?
Thanks in advance for your advice!

It depends on how much time you wish to spend on writing the AARs. Both WordPress and Blogger have free versions which work well for many people. The advantage over plain text is that you do get to use headers, tables, and photos to help tell your story.
I use WordPress to host my blog & its editor to write with. I take photos with my smart phone and add them to the story.
Using a blog or plain text really just comes down to your preference. To me, formatted text is more enjoyable to read than plain text, but I don't let plain text keep me from reading a story.

Well, it's neither pretty nor brilliant (yet) but I've posted a little rambling introduction, followed by some in-depth character creation for my 5150: NB campaign. sap2844.wordpress.comHope to have some actual play and narrative up soon!

After reading to about the halfway point, I figured: Moxie sounds like a spoiled little rich kid with dreams of working the mean streets. Then I read the rest of it. Nicely done. She might want to recruit a Rep3 brawler asap, maybe a boyfriend or friend from militia service.

It's all about the Story and you're doing a good one. All THW rules are tools that cand be used, or not used, or tweaked to fit what you want to do. The only thing to remember, if you change a rule or how to play, let the new players know. You're doing well.
