Yesterday morning I got a COVID booster, flu shot & shingles vaccine all at the same time. About 9:00 last night, I began shivering and running a fever, so I took some Alieve and went to bed. In the past when I would run a fever, I would dream that I was at work - this time I dreamed I was playing a game in a period I usually have no interest in.
This dream had a group of Confederate Missouri Bushwhackers attacking a sleeping camp of Kansas Jayhawkers. While playing the game I knew that if I wanted to play with several units, I could use Rifles and Rebels or Colonial Adventures, or if playing a single group, I could use Six Gun Sound or Fortunes Won and Lost. Of course, if I used Six Gun Sound, I would have to make adjustments for ball and cap pistols and rifled muskets. In my dream, I even knew I could get the minis for the various factions from Wargames Foundry: Jennison's Jayhawkers, Sen. Lane's Kansas Brigade, Quantril's Raiders, Anderson's Guerillas, 7th Regiment Kansas Volunteer Cavalry, Cheroke Indians, Delaware Indians.
Well, I woke up at 4:00AM from the dream & checked the Wargames Foundry website and all of those figures are still for sale. And to round out the collection, I could go to the Knuckleduster Miniatures sight and purchase the iconic pose of one Mr. Josey Wales.
While I have no desire to collect and game the major battles of the Civil War, the actions in the West are tempting. Have you ever dreamed about gaming?

I don't think I have.
I've had the usual odd dreams that only matter to yourself, but I have dreamed of being in a Star Wars dogfight (in an X-Wing, naturally), being on board a pirate ship (but only sailing), and in a commando unit.
As a fun fact, my name actually appears (albeit very fleetingly) as an SAS soldier in Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six novel (which isn't really related except to the commando dream mentioned!), I didn't make it into any of the video games.
