5150 NB: Paying rent question

With apologies if I missed this in the book somewhere:

Trying to tally up what my character owes at the end of a month, I get hung up on:

HOME: Monthly, Law Level minus 2.

In a couple other places, the rules refer to a home's law level.

Except, neighborhoods have a day and night law level.

Is one or the other a default? Take the lower and save costs? Average and round up or down?

I'm curious what the standard or consensus is, because for my current character it means the difference between "broke" or "destitute"!

No worries, take the area you want to call home. Take higher Law Level and subtract 2. Never less than 1. Sometimes you start in low Areas like Little Hisha/Lower Hope LL 2 then -2 equals 0 so minimum of 1. Sometimes it's best to not have any band members.
