I picked up New Beginnings over the weekend, and just starting to play--now I've got a dilemma.
A Rep-3 Character with Physical Enhancements is in unarmed Melee with a Rep-4 Character.
Rep-3 rolls 2d6 +1d6 for PE. Scores 1, 2, 3.
Rep-4 rolls 2d6. Scores 3,4.
Does the Rep-3 character pass one more die than the Rep-4, because the PE gives a "bonus D6"?
Or did they pass same because you can't pass more than 2 dice in one roll?
Or in other words, how much of an edge is a Physical Enhancement meant to be?
Any feedback is appreciated!
Thanks!

Yep, just count all the d6 passed then go down the Melee table and see how many MORE d6 the Rep 3 passed, regardless of number of d6 rolled. The table reads 2d6 more and is easy to miss. Hope this hslps. Ed

Awesome, thanks!
That was my initial reading, but then I got my head stuck in the "taken versus rep" rule description where "you can pass 2d6,1d6, or 0d6" and remembering in some rulesets and some situations, "pass 2d6" was a hard cap, so wanted to make sure.
Now this waitress NPC who I somehow allowed to randomly roll up awesome cybernetic enhancements, who then decided to join the party... has a chance against the ganger thugs!

Speaking of adding dice to a roll...
Is there a recommendation or requirement in "Standard Rules as Written" that says whether you can or should add Sweet Talk Dice before anybody rolls? After you roll but before they roll? After everybody rolls and you're trying to nudge a bad result? Whatever makes sense with the story--it's your game?

I usually use it before rolling but your way sounds good actually, using it after the initial d6 are rolled. Just like using Extraordinary Effort after d6 are rolled.
