I’d like to buy the Ship Tiles PDF but it doesn’t appear to be around anymore. Can you help Ed?

Ed, I think I missed them the first time around. Any possibility of a re-release?

They are talking about the old school 8.5x11 inch ship tiles like this. If interested email me. Going for $5.

Just out of curiousity, where and when were these deck plan tiles originally published? Were they part of a 5150 supplement?

I think they were intended for Star Army boarding actions. They are now perfect for Known Space boarding actions. Obviously.
Hey Ed, whilst we’re on this topic. There is no real guidance for using the boarding action rules in Known Space as a defender. The main point being when you can use the Anti Boarding Measures table. I am going to assume I can only use them if I pass 2D6 and roll 5-6 (even though I would want to use them immediately!). Do I still have to roll on the table or can I choose an action? If its clumsy I’ll just stick to the tables for defending. No problem really…

Hola,
Great question - What if I'm boarded? Here's a clarification to the rules on page 58.
1. Each Ship type has a line that says "Detachments" which is the number of Units it will use in a Boarding action (see page 59). There will always be one additional Group that remains on the enemy Ship on the Bridge tile.
Example: The description for a Pirate Ship says, "Detachments - 2." It will send two Groups over to attack a ship during a Boarding Action.
2. The Enemy Groups will be represented by PEFs.
3. When the enemy ship Boards yours, roll 1d6 per PEF and place them as indicated on page 58.
4. One PEF will move directly to the Bridge. Roll 1d6 for any additional PEF, (1-3) = moves to the Bridge, (4-6) = moves to the Thruster tile to capture the engine room.
5. The Enemy may make 1 Cyberhacking attempt to take over the Ship using the REP of the enemy captain, and are otherwise considered to be moving through the ship, locking down systems as they go.
6. Anti-Boarding Measures: Any given turn the defender may try anti-boarding measures on attackers. The Boarding party will be trying to stop you. Make an Opposed Challenge roll. If successful, you may roll 1d6 on the Anti-Boarding Measures table. Or, you can always choose just use them as you wish.
Hope that helps. Cheers!

Thanks! “3. When the enemy ship Boards yours, roll 1d6 per PEF and place them as indicated.” - I don’t think its indicated anywhere… “ 4. One PEF will move directly to the Bridge. Roll 1d6 for any additional PEF, (1-3) = moves to the,” - Moves to the what? Also to be clear, detachments are only mentioned in Star Marine. I have it though. This is the table for anyone interested. I’m assuming its okay to reproduce a tiny table? I’ll remove it if its uncool.

Edits included in my original post. 3. The process for placing PEFs is on p.58 of Known Space: "When attacking, roll 1d6 and read the result as rolled. This is the Ship Tile Section that your Star and Crew are placed in." - instead of placing your figures there, that's where the enemy PEFs are placed. 4. Oops! phantom keyboard problem, (1-3) = moves to the Bridge X. The number of detachments (aka groups) is included with each ship description on page 59, Known Space. Hope that helps.Cheers!

Thanks for that. I print out my PDFs in A5 size. This is almost never a problem for me. Sometimes if things are already in small type I miss them.
Thanks so much for the clarification.
