One hundred years ago today, the 19th Amendment was passed by Congress prohibiting the states and the federal government from denying the right to vote to citizens of the United States on the basis of sex.
The amendment was first introduced to Congress in 1878 - it took 41 years for Congress to pass the amendment.
For better or worse, floozies can vote!

In reading about the 19th amendment being passed on June 4th, I found another event that happened on June 4th, 30 years ago - an event that is heavily censured in China :

June 4th is quite the day. Rome, the first Axis capitol, fell to the Allies in 1944! Happy 19th Amendment day
