Or should we say "What was Qwik?"
It was a game by THW based on the movie Blood of Heroes. "What?" Movie was okay, game was great. The movie came out 30 years ago, the game came out 8 years ago. "What?!"
Yeah, I know, time flies. And gamers change and games have to change with them.
What was detailed then, is streamlined now.
What took a while to play, can be played in half the time.
But some things don't change.
Still bloody...still easy to learn...still compatible with After the Horseman.
But that's another story...
More to come.

Great timing,
Iโve finished converting and priming team #1 (and two stakes and a bean, all 28 mm) about two weeks ago. No colours yet, but definitely playable. Team #2 is waiting for conversion. ๐
There will still be action and movement on a board, right?

Arrgh! Another stalled project that now begs to be finished, I have half of a team finished and the rest are in the lead pile somewhere. No conversions, though, I was just going to use some of Shadowforges fantasy football figures.

Streamlined mechanics, still a blast.

sigh. I bought the 15mm teams...let's just say it's been a while ago. Still sitting in the lead pile. Now I feel so unproductive.

What? You have unpainted figures and feel unproductive, maybe you need some inspiration:

I had the great luck of playing it with Ed. My 15mm teams are sitting in their box, crying at being ignored! Looking forward to a new release!

Been playing it a lot, to work out bugs and it plays much better than the other one, much faster and more strategy. I've played even teams quite a bit and the games are pretty close. I played the best team the City (25 points) had, versus my Rep 5 Star led, recruited from the Heart of the Wastelands (19 points) and... and... and... got pounded. My team was the red one. Can't see them in the following photo as all of us are either knocked out of the game (the 3 green face down counters) or pinned to the ground (under the blue counters). But at least it played out the way it should have. The way it works is you recruit your team from the Wasteland and as they get better your team total goes up - add the Reps of all 5 Juggers so 25 is the best, 15 the worse. When you reach about 19 points you can move the Settlements. When you get to be 20 points you can go to the City, BUT you have to offer a Challenge to the City teams and unless you're around 23 points, they usually won't play you and kick you back to the Settlements.

Big fan of Qwik and "The Blood of Heroes"...simple and fun movie.
Will we get to see an example of play with the newer streamlined mechanics in action?
