Hi Ed. Could you explain the ‘Detailed City’ please? Sure, It has 6 Different Areas to explore. Each has it's own NPC Tables for the area, 2 or 3 with 11 possible NPCs per table. Many of these you cannot meet anywhere else except in Brigana; like a Temple Dancing Girl or Palace Servant. Each can introduce you to other NPCs you may not have access to like the Emir. So you might meet a Princess in the Wealthy Area but not at the Docks. Each of the 23+ NPCs have their own Interaction Table. So if you meet a Street Urchin it will Interact with you much differently than a Merchant, who could introdcue you to a Nobleman who could introduce you to the Vizier. Lots of unique interactions that leads to different scenarios. Hope this makes sense. I'll be using this system in 5150.

Thats great news. You did that in ‘Legends of Araby’. For me, that’s one of the best mechanics you’ve created to drive the story and make every game unique tho’ I appreciate it must take a lot of time.

If you are reading this and have ‘Distant Shores’ you might be wondering if you need another core Talomir book. Now that I have it I can tell you its somewhat of a point update to the system. The trading rules and gold currency are great and there are multiple ‘who are they - profession’ tables that you can easily tweak to fit other locations if you like. Also, you can combine the scenarios in Distant Shores & Caravanserai to make one big campaign as they are are essentially chapter 1 and 2 of the same story...

One very important change from Distant Shores to Caravanserai is that Cast Spells is no longer a random attribute. Usta was that any Star could take Cast Spells as their free pick, regardless of class. Now, the Star must be Caster class to have Cast Spells, although Dual-Class is now an option. Any Star can still choose Healing.

I never noticed that but it certainly makes more sense.

Yes the stories are linked and can become one larger campaign. Haldor is becoming the Billy Pink of Talomir Tales.

Need to decide who they are from the area you are in p.23-24 unless specified by the encounter (some of the encounters have their own who are they tables), if you meet characters then roll on the profession tables p.30 How did I do ?
