Hi,
The German fallschirmjäger (airborne) units can choose to equip the FG42 weapon. On page 12 of the V4 rules it is specified that you can either use this full auto with a range of 10 or as a sniper rifle with scope and a range of 48. If you look at the historical descriptions of the weapon, it could be used in either semi auto (SA) or full auto (FA) mode, and in addition, a scope could be mounted for sniper use.
Would it not make more sense to have the FG42 have the following options: 1. SA: range 48, target 2 2. FA: range 10, target 3 3. sniper (SA mode): range 60, target 2
This way it is comparable to a Gewehr 43 in SA mode, while in FA mode it would be able to shoot more targets while the range is lowered drastically. In sniper mode it would also compare to the Gewehr 43 with scope. It doesn't seem fair now that it doesn't have a SA mode which makes it either a bad SA gun or a bad sniper gun, while it was considered to be a good weapon for the German paras.
What do you think about this?

Works for me. I'd go with it. The nice thing about THW is you can tweak the games to fit what you want to represent. Thanks for sharing, Ed
