So a few questions came up while playing through the first Patrol scenario. As my flights are moving in groups, does the InSight test occur after all elements of a flight have moved? As an example; I have two Star Navy fighters that moved and are in Scanner range of two Hishen fighters. The Hishen fighters are in the same flight. On their move the flight leader moves first and makes it into visual range (5") with 3" of movement to go.
Question: Does the second Hishen fighter move before the InSight test is taken? Or does the InSight and all corresponding reaction tests happen first?
Follow up questions: In both cases, the first fighter that moved; does that fighter get to move the extra 3" after the Insight and reaction tests are complete?
If the InSight test occurs before the second fighter moves, when that fighter moves into InSight range (5") does a new series of InSight tests occur as normal?
Thank you in advance.

So a few questions came up while playing through the first Patrol scenario. Fighter Command I'm guessing. As my flights are moving in groups, does the InSight test occur after all elements of a flight have moved? All ships in the flight move the same distance, when the first ship comes into sight the In Sight is triggered. The ships can move 1" more.As an example; I have two Star Navy fighters that moved and are in Scanner range of two Hishen fighters. The Hishen fighters are in the same flight. On their move the flight leader moves first and makes it into visual range (5") with 3" of movement to go.
Question: Does the second Hishen fighter move before the InSight test is taken? Correct, the same distance as the lead ship, In Sight triggered, then they can move 1" more. . Or does the InSight and all corresponding reaction tests happen first? No. All ships of the flight move as one unit at the same distance.
Follow up questions: In both cases, the first fighter that moved; does that fighter get to move the extra 3" after the Insight and reaction tests are complete? Yes, they can move the balance of their movement and this could trigger another In Sight.
If the InSight test occurs before the second fighter moves, when that fighter moves into InSight range (5") does a new series of InSight tests occur as normal? No, it occurs after it moves, BUT it could not be involved in the first insight, let's say behind an asteroid. When it comes into sight later, another In Sight is triggered. Hope this helps. Ed
Thank you in advance.

Thanks, Ed!
I was playing this partially correct, but not completely. This will help my games.
Best, Ken

Thanks, Ed! I was playing this partially correct, but not completely. This will help my games. Best, Ken No worries. The In Sight isn't typical of most rules so ask questions as they come up. Just think of it as real life - I come into sight, have a chance to move a small distance then we both react, winner fires first.
