Hello. Just purchased a hardcopy of the rules yesterday. Have been perusing the PDF in the meantime while I wait for the book to arrive. Tight little system you've developed here!
Rather than creating a bunch of new threads, I thought I'd collect my questions here as they come up.
First question: One thing that stood out to me during my initial reading was the effective range of some weapons are 48"/60". So with these weapons, figures can fire all the way across the 3'x3' playing area if they have LOS?
Follow-up question: I thought I read these ranges are the effective ranges. I interpret that as meaning figures can attack targets out of range. Perhaps at a penalty? How does that work?
I read the whole book in one sitting and it was a lot to take in. I may have missed the answers to these questions. Thanks!

Here goes.Rather than creating a bunch of new threads, I thought I'd collect my questions here as they come up. First question: One thing that stood out to me during my initial reading was the effective range of some weapons are 48"/60". So with these weapons, figures can fire all the way across the 3'x3' playing area if they have LOS? Correct, then scale is roughly 1" to 2 yards and many gamers wan tot play on larger tables 4 x comes to mind, so...Follow-up question: I thought I read these ranges are the effective ranges. I interpret that as meaning figures can attack targets out of range. Perhaps at a penalty? How does that work? You could, counting a -1 to Rep, but that would be up to you. On a 3x3 board most of the time terrain would reduce the LOS. No one would want to walk in an area with a long LOS as they would get fired on for a longer period of time. Cover is best. Hope this helps and be sure to ask questions as they come up.
EdI read the whole book in one sitting and it was a lot to take in. I may have missed the answers to these questions. Thanks!

Today's questions: 1) On p. 62, it states both armies have an Investment Level of 3. In the STOP! box below, it states players begin with Campaign Morale and Investment Level of 4. Is this an error or how do I reconcile these two things? 2) When resolving PEFs and getting Reinforcements as a result, I assume one infantry squad is the very least that would appear no matter how low I roll. I also assume, unlike actual reinforcements, they're placed wherever the PEF marker was at the time of resolution. Is this correct?
Thanks!

Is this an error or how do I reconcile these two things? Go with 3 for Investment Level.2) When resolving PEFs and getting Reinforcements as a result, I assume one infantry squad is the very least that would appear no matter how low I roll. I also assume, unlike actual reinforcements, they're placed wherever the PEF marker was at the time of resolution. Is this correct? No, page 61 Campaign Morale Test allows for a loss to Investment Level if hit 1 or lower and roll a 1 could get nothing. Example - Investment Level of 1 and on Attack Mission iks a +2 total. Score a 1 and that's a 3 - No reinforcements. Patrol Mission makes it even worse. Hope this helps, Ed
Thanks!

Thanks for the answer. I'm still not 100% sure I follow. To clarify my question regarding PEFs, I'll refer to the example given on p. 64 with Sgt. Pink.
He and his squad pass 2d6 and contact is made. Sgt. Pink rolls a 2 and encounters enemy reinforcements.
Going to p. 67, if I roll a 1 and add the German IL of 1 and their attack mission as 1 for a total of 3, no contact was made and the PEF was just a false alarm?
And if One Infantry Squad is generated, it is placed where the PEF was and Reinforcement Entry is not rolled, correct?
