Hey all. First things first, do you guys hang out on a Discord? Ok so this is my first tabletop wargame and I have spent a few hours reading through the rulebook and have a few questions. In Sight TestUnder section "Taking the In Sight Test" the text reads " all figures in sight of an enemy, or having the enemy in sight will take the test" but the bullet point underneath I feel contradicts this by stating " The Leader of each group takes the In Sight for the group". To me it's suggesting in that all the figures roll a dice but then it says only the leader rolls. Any help with this would be appreciated! Return FireSecond question is about returning fire. Looking at this forced example... imgur.com/FqemI0CThe 2 Brits have nonchalantly wandered out from behind the shed, triggering an In Sight Test. The German wins and fires with his rifle on the guy in front. He misses. Now presumably the Brit in front can return fire. He also misses. My question is, do these 2 chaps keep firing at each other in their isolated bubble until 1 of them has to Duck Back etc? Secondly, let's say the German finally hits the Brit in front and causes him to Duck Back. That now ends that German group's activation and it's now the Brit's turn to shoot, right? So finally the second British soldier can start firing an causing a nuisance? This is still day 1 for me and wargames are new to me so I apologise if these are stupid questions. It's a lot to take in and sometimes I think I just benefit from having someone point me in the right direction.

Hey all. First things first, do you guys hang out on a Discord? Not me, I try to keep to one place to answer questions.Ok so this is my first tabletop wargame and I have spent a few hours reading through the rulebook and have a few questions. No worries. In the past each figure could take the test, some liked it, some didn't. To streamline it it's the leader or temporary leader (Highest Rep in group) who takes it. Some choose to use all the figures taking it, but does slow it down. So as per the current rules - leader takes it.Return FireSecond question is about returning fire. Not quite. if you get fired on and missed a 2nd time, you Duck Back. It's on the Shooting table. So German fires on Brit #1, miss, Brit returns fie miss, Germ returns fire and misses - Brit 1 ducks back as he's been fired on twice. In Sight done. Brit #2 is active and fires at GermanSecondly, let's say the German finally hits the Brit in front and causes him to Duck Back. That now ends that German group's activation and it's now the Brit's turn to shoot, right? So finally the second British soldier can start firing an causing a nuisance? Right. This is still day 1 for me and wargames are new to me so I apologise if these are stupid questions. It's a lot to take in and sometimes I think I just benefit from having someone point me in the right direction. Not at all. THW uses the reaction System instead of IGO UGO - I move and shoot and melee then you move and shoot and melee. Questions welcome. Hope this helps., Ed

Thanks for the help Ed.
Quick clarification... All this happened on the German activation. In the example above the Brit had to Duck Back after receiving 2 return fires. This ended the German activation and we moved onto the Brits. I said above "So finally the second British soldier" can have a turn, but just to clarify, the guy who Ducked Back gets to do a Recovery check and if passed, have a shot along with his friend that turn right?
Thanks!

Thanks! Ah missed the German Activation part. But, if the Brits are "wandering out" - moving then they had to be active. That through me off as you move when active. So let's redo this, the active - moving side steps out and triggers the Insight. Non moving wins and fires at one moving guy, he ducks back. In sight is finished. The other active guy who was not fired on can now active fire and shoot at non-mover which could trigger the firing back and forth.Let me know if makes things clearer.
