While d12 does seem like an interesting idea, my only problem with it is that, in my own games, I like having a result of doubles for extra events that occur in a roll.

I used them just recently in a Long Rifle game for a riverside escape scene. I find they lend themselves to storytelling when you can come up with an idea of what a failure would look like and how it might impact the characters involved.

For a straight shoot'em up game only Rep need be used. The Skills are for Interaction and Challenges.
